What is DOIP

DOIP is ISO 13400 diagnostic protocol

ISO 13400-1:2011 describes the general use cases and communication scenarios which are covered by an Internet Protocol-based vehicle communication standard. Each use case drives specific communication capabilities of the vehicle communication interface, for instance in order to be interoperable in an existing computer network.

The diagnostic communication over Internet Protocol (DoIP) protocol supports the standardized service primitive interface as specified in ISO 14229-2.

The descriptions in ISO 13400-1:2011 cover different application layer implementations, such as:

enhanced vehicle diagnostics (system diagnostics beyond legislated functionality, non-emissions-related system diagnostics);
WWH-OBD (World-Wide Harmonized On-Board Diagnostics) as specified in ISO 27145-2 and ISO 27145-3.

Mercedes Benz Xentry diagnosis VCI DOIP Pass thur interface C6 (Vehicle Communication Interface) multiplexer serves as the interface to the vehicle when performing diagnosis and repairs,

The Mercedes Benz Xentry diagnosis VCI DOIP Pass thur interface C6 does not have its own PC core, battery, fan, or display.

the problem with SDconnect is that self test gives errors about RAM and FLASH.





Although the term doesn’t mean much, this is a lower end board as far as they go. You could fairly safely assume that they spent as little as possible on the parts for this. If you can get the parts and feel like lifting and replacing the handful of TSSOPs, you could try to repair it, otherwise I’d just put it into the bone pile and hope for a better one next time. Although it doesn’t guarantee anything, don’t buy based on the cheapest price you can find. Ask for interior photos *before* you buy and pay with something that allows you to get your money back if what you get doesn’t match what they said you’d get. It’s been discussed ad nauseam already on this thread.

The RAM for the PPC on the top is DDR SDRAM (16Mx16) (search for k4h56xx38j_66tsop2_rev10.pdf). Alliance, ISSI, and Winbond make crosses for it. The parallel NOR on the CPU side is an S29GL (3.3V, 64Mbit, parallel NOR — you can still find those around without too much trouble).

The C166 you can find via Octopart (XC161CJ-16F40F). You will need to program the flash on this part if you just want to drop it in.

The switching regulators are mostly LTC3412A — you can find those without too much trouble.

You can find the Ethernet PHY AM79C874VI without too much trouble.

For the 4Mb/5V SRAMs on the back, you need a 5V TSOP-44 10ns 4Mb (or larger) SRAM. ISSI makes the IS61C5128AL, which I believe should be a drop in replacement.

The parallel NOR flash on the bottom could be more of a pain in the ass. You need to find a 16Mb (or greater) 5V 70ns (or faster, although this may not be super critical), AMD CFI compatible (if you want to be safe) flash in TSOP 48. These parts are long obsolete. You’re going to have to do some digging around to locate those.

The CPLD on the bottom is an LC4256V-75TN176C. You can still find those.

I can’t remember the part # for the Hynix NAND on the bottom, but I’ll update the post if/when I do.

So all this said…unless you are very experienced with rework and have good equipment, you could very likely end up destroying the PCB in the process of trying to do all of this rework. Reworking these boards is not something that’s economically viable as has been pointed out on here by Anturage before.

Je suis propriétaire de ma part de à peu près la seule marque de MB Je possède en dehors de VW / Audi toute ma vie. Je fais toujours la plupart de ma propre déchirante.

ont pas besoin étoiles Diagnostics pour mes voitures à jour parce qu’ils ont pas été complexe d’ordinateur. Je veux dire que j’ai eu un peu complexe avec suspension oleopnumatic et tout, mais les voitures complexes pas modernes. Nous avons SLK de ma femme et moi avions une C55 (récemment totalisé 3-5 MPH).

Quoi qu’il en soit désolé pour l’intro de longue haleine. Je regarde un E500 2003, et il a toutes les options, sauf Pano et Park Assist. On dirait de faire toute sorte d’entretien sur cette voiture vous avez besoin d’un système SDS à faire quoi que ce soit. Même faire quelque chose d’aussi simple que changer les freins. Donc je suppose que ma question est dois-je aller de l’avant et déposer de l’argent sur un système de diagnostic SDS Star et si oui quoi?

Je sais qu’il ya beaucoup de discussions sur ce sujet mais je ne l’ai jamais vu un spécifiquement sur ce genre pour obtenir une voiture spécifique.

Est-ce qu’un C3 Multiplexeur faire ce que je dois ou devrais-je aller pour le SD connecter C4 ou C5. On dirait que la lecture, il est préférable d’obtenir un qui a le mode Dev, si je veux être en mesure de faire des changements.


Je sais que cela semble simple, mais sur la base des questions que vous posez, je dirais plus de lecture avant que je pris la décision d’acheter et de système SDS.

Rappelez-vous que vous regardez une voiture de 2003. Les testeurs SDS sont archivés par conséquent, vous ne pouvez pas acheter une version pour 2003 – vous êtes maintenant à la fin de 2015 et de la version 09_2014 plus âgées C3 mux de ne compatible- maintenant vous êtes de gauche avec une étoile C4, plus coûteux et avec un coût du système de 600-800 USD

Ensuite, vous devez apprendre à utiliser l’outil et de comprendre ce que le testeur vous dit – il est pas aussi simple que cela puisse paraître, maintenant si vous êtes dans les affaires qui est une histoire très différente !!

Quoi qu’il en soit à côté de clones SD (ne pense pas qu’aucun bricolage ne pourra jamais considérer SD originale), vous pouvez acheter des scanners universels.

Bonne partie est que les scanners qui se vendent il y a $ 2000 quelques années, maintenant en vente pour 500 $.

La difficulté que je trouve est une description claire ce que le scanner fera sur vos MB.

Dans le même temps, je lie d’amitié avec un gars qui est indy avec $ 2500 scanner et il fonctionne pour moi.

2016.3 MB STAR C3 XENTRY DAS EPC WIS Activation on Windows 7/ 8

Mercedes-Benz STAR C3 diagnostic software V2016.03 is released, and here is the instruction on how to activate STAR C3 software on Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system.

First, please send the following information to uobd2




Open “StartKeyCenter” on Desktop, to get the Star C3 Hardware ID and App ID


Complete Licence information (Hardware ID, App ID, StartDay, ExpirationDay), then click “Generate” to get License String


Copy License String, then go to “StartKeys”, click “Enter” to read StartKey, then “Save” data


Then open “Xentry” on Desktop to begin diagnosis or programming




Run the software “Get Hardware ID” , copy the generated hardware ID to our dealer for the license.reg file


Unzip “license.rar”, and add to the registry


Open “DAS” software to begin diagnosis or programming



Run “EPC & WIS” on Desktop and Login with user name: admin & password: 12345


Go to “server”-> “edit the access authorization”


Copy current MAC address (LAN ID)


Open notepad to copy the new EPC & WIS password


Then save data
Go to “programs”


Go to “EPC” for Mercedes-Benz vehicles repairing information
