Xhorse Dolphin II XP-005L Shows Error Code 70—What Should I Do?

Today, we received a question from a customer:

“My Xhorse Dolphin II XP-005L displays Error Code 70. How can I fix it?”

The screen displays:

ERROR CODE: 70
The battery pack is in BIOS mode. Please upgrade.

Solution 1: Upgrade the XP-005L Again

First, restart the Xhorse Dolphin II XP-005L and retry the update.

Before updating:

  • Make sure the machine has a stable power supply.
  • Check that the internet connection is stable.
  • Use the latest Xhorse app or update software.
  • Do not switch off or disconnect the machine during the update.

In most cases, running the upgrade again can resolve Error Code 70.

Solution 2: Disconnect the Internal Battery Cable and Upgrade Again

If the error remains after retrying the update, contact your seller or Xhorse technical support before opening the machine.

Under professional guidance:

  1. Switch off the XP-005L.
  2. Disconnect the external power supply.
  3. Remove the machine’s bottom cover.
  4. Locate the internal battery connector shown in the picture.
  5. Carefully unplug the connector—pull the plug, not the wires.
  6. Reconnect the external power supply and run the upgrade again.
  7. After the upgrade is completed, switch off the machine and reconnect the battery cable securely.

Important: Opening the machine without authorization may affect the warranty. If you are unsure which connector to disconnect, do not proceed. Send a clear photo to your seller or Xhorse support for confirmation first.

What If Error Code 70 Still Appears?

Please send the following information to your seller:

  • XP-005L serial number
  • Current software and firmware versions
  • Photo or video of Error Code 70
  • Result of the second upgrade attempt

This will help technical support identify whether the issue is related to the firmware, battery communication or hardware.
